A new face at Manydown

Meet Sean

Sean Bos is the new boots on the ground presence you are likely to see around the site at Manydown. He is responsible for the smooth running of construction activity on site from sourcing and selecting contractors to managing the day-to-day comings and goings.

As Project Manager, Sean’s role is multi-faceted and varied; no two days are ever the same, with time spent both out and about on-site and in the site office collaborating with a broad range of experts, including the Local Authority, design consultants, town planners, ecologists, botanists, geologists and archaeologists to name a few.

“Every day is a lesson, I am pursuing solutions to challenges we face with a vast variety of species, including dormice, badgers, and kites. As a project manager, who is also a nature lover, it is good knowing that we are working towards delivering a better environment for all our existing and future inhabitants. Some days have been particularly interesting, there aren’t many jobs where you can cross paths with a badger and a pilgrim on the same day, but I can truthfully say this is just one of the out of the ordinary days I have had whilst out and about on the Manydown site!”

With a broad spectrum of experience in the construction sector, Sean is well suited to the variety of work Manydown will require. Originating from South Africa, when he moved to the UK he continued to develop his project management and construction experience on another development in Basingstoke.
He has worked on a variety of projects from health centres in the UK to large mixed-use developments in Africa including hotels, residential apartments, commercial office space, retail space, gyms, and even a museum.  “My range of experience has better equipped me to spot and take advantage of opportunities that others may miss.”

Living in Basingstoke for the last 2 years meant that Sean was already aware of the Manydown project. Having moved to the town because of his partner’s employment, they have chosen to stay because of the convenience, connectivity and infrastructure offered by Basingstoke. The proximity to Heathrow is another bonus for this well-seasoned traveller.

No one is more excited to be starting Manydown than Sean.

“I was drawn to the opportunity of working on Manydown because it is a place where I could see myself settling down; it offers real countryside living with genuine connections to nature, whilst being just over 2 miles from the Basingstoke Town Centre as the crow flies. I also believe that this project has the ability to shape the future of Basingstoke. Many people see Basingstoke’s selling point as being a well-connected town for commuting, but it has the potential to be an economic centre of its own standing, and a sought-after destination to live, work, raise a family, or even retire to.”
